ohiho 4: Big Cars with Big Bush Bumper stickers
I was driving to work today and looking at the cars around me. Big cars, really big cars & big trucks. SUVs, pickups, minivans, full-size vans and a few ordinary, everyday cars.
With ribbons. SHITLOADS of ribbons. Every fucking car has a fucking ribbon! Is it me or is this the same as saying, "Look at me! I care! See, I bought a ribbon, I support the troops!" I never understood the "support the troops" movement, but it is WAY out of control here. There are two reasons for the ribbon movement, in my opinion: (1) entrepreneurial magnet and sign makers learned how to make some money and (2) people wanting to brag to others about how much they "care."
In my ribbonless car, I cheer each time I see someone with a Kerry sticker on their car. There are actually quite a few left, but the "W" stickers out number them 3 to 1. I want to scowl at every car with a Bush sticker but that just isn’t practical. As I pass, I do frequently look at the driver. I must give some kind of ugly look. I just want to see what Bush supporters look like. I don’t understand. Truthfully, I think I’m looking for another reason to hate them, maybe make some generalization like "all Bush supporters are ugly" or "most Bush supporters are white trash." Neither are true so far. I keep hoping. The only generalization so far is, the bigger the car, the more likely to be a Bush supporter. SUVs for Bush, baby! Gas guzzlin’, expensive as hell, SUVs!

Um, can I copy and paste that entire post and put it in my blog? Cos I do all that, think all that.
You mirror my thoughts exactly. But what I’ve done, BTW, is put a Hillary for president 2008 sticker on my car.
